Meet Alcide and Mellisa International  Language teachers who scheduled a all day weaving class at the studio last week.

Alcide loves Yellow and they chose there colors to wind for the bobbins

Spring has arrived watch weaving students learn at Saori Santa Cruz classes

 

Hanna had never done any fiber arts ever .  she will Graduate from UCSC next month with a history major. She wanted to learn to weave and came for a 2 hour introductory class and discovered the Fun and joy of saori weaving

choosing branches from our property Bay trees we cut and students can chose one for there weaving if they would like one.

HANNA  emailed me  a photo of her weaving hanging at her home, an amazing first piece!

Joi  came back and wanted  to weave a white monochromatic scarf . I wound a cotton yarn warp for her , and threaded it for her  a few days ahead of the class.

 These are the SAORI CH60 LOOMS i use in my classes. I want my students to be ergonomically fitted so i have looms with different heights and loom benches to adjust to their correct height as well. I have other models of saori looms but the off set cloth beams and the high back warp beam and sturdiness make these  student's  favorites.

I love all Saori looms but i especially love the the Saori

weave a cowl on a Saori loom class at SAORI SANTA CRUZ STUDIO

 I love it when familes take a class together. Jill and Zoey came for a  intro class. It was Jill's birthday gift and she brought her granddaughter too for the saori try it intro class. 

 This is zoey's first weaving and it  turned out to be a darling cowl .
