Saori weaving outside: enjoying our Indian summer here in California

Chilly mornings and sunny afternoons here in Northern california. Our class started inside then we easily  folded and rolled the Saori wx60 looms  out to a warm deck in just a few minutes, and contuniued to weave. saori wx60 loom

Kacie  finished winding her warp and threading the heddles and reed in  the previous two class sessions previous blog post . Today she  is beaming her warp on  and will start weaving her scarf.

Eileen , a new student ,came for a try it class and she is using a saori premade warp.  The advantage for new weavers is that they can sit down and  start weaving in just a few minutes without any previous experience whatsoever.

The warm afternoon sun and golden Ginko tree lured us out on the deck to contunine our class.

kacie's unique warp is being woven with great textures and colors of yarns she wanted ,envisioned and chose. In  the Saori  PHILOSOPHY we say that there are no mistakes. we do not over think every detail instead we sit down to weave and let our inner intuition lead us.the Saori way

 And winding bobbins

 The time flew by
Eileen finished her  lovely sampler and loved weaving on the saori loom. She is  so excited to weave more so she scheduled a class in a few weeks and this time it is to how learn to wind her own warp custom and other class offerings

Kacie will be back next week to finish weaving her lovely unique scarf full of  her colors and textures.

And more WOWS
