Dee Dee a new SAORI weaver and SAORI colors of premade warps

Dee Dee came for a day long weaving class at Saori Santa Cruz last week. She had been searching for a medium to express her self  for a few years and had all but given up on weaving because of a all to often story I hear when students  take  an adult ed class or something equivalent and get  totally turned off by the stifled traditional views and less then great warping instructions they recieve. I assurred her that the SAORI way of weaving and looms would not disappoint her and  it was the farthest thing  from traditional weaving, however should you want to  you could do traditional weaving on SAORI looms too.
Saori is a philosphy not just  exceptional weaving  equipment.
A one on one all day  session  class schedules   is sometimes perfect for exploring in depth and asking  lots of questions and just getting a feel for saori and it's equipment. to see if it feels right. NO question is dumb and  they welcomed by all my students.

  AND SO DEE DEE BEGINS

As the fog lifted mid morning we moved out to the deck to weave.

The day flew by, and Dee Dee was so excited , she decided to buy a folding wood frame  saori wx60  loom  , and  some yarns, and accessories

Here is her first saori sampler off the loom !

She was dreaming  of her next peoject when she would weave at  home. Her talented family has been encouraging her to find her creative voice. They will be so excited to see that spouse, and mom  will be expressing her self from a unique only  from her fiber art  pieces .She wants to come back to learn sewing saori garments as well... it was a delight to meet you DEE DEE!

  and on a personal note.....
happiness is spening hours with the grand children teaching them  and" playing" with my louet s10 wheel and art yarn flyer spinning wheels making yarn!

At 1 1/2 years my grand son can feel the twist travel up the wool roving and then knows when to let it go and let it draw in to build twist again! I  used the treadles for him but my 5 yr old grand daughter could treadle her self.

OOPS LOOK WHAT WENT ON WHEN I WAS NOT LOOKING!
LOVE THAT THEY LOVED IT!

peace, pause, PRETEND then play for "reals"....
