Meet linda . She is a awesome Saori weaver . Her Daughter is getting married this month. as the mother of the bride she has a pumpkin colored sheath dress and she wanted to sew a jacket to go with it out of the saori handwoven yardage.she came to class with a lot of of her yardage and we tried on muslin mock ups i have to choose the right style that looked good on her. then looked at her handwoven stash and chose a piece that would work and match her dress.
we laid it out and made the changes then linda cut it out
baste it and try it on
it fits and looks great so back to sew it up with regular length stitching .
she loves it! it turned out fabulous
we cut out pockets but they would hide her wonderful detail of colors in the front so we decided to leave them off. maybe after the wedding in a few months she can sew them on ?
linda will do some hand sewing on the collar at home
peaceful weaving and sewing in the redwood mountains
