My new Saori kelly green hand woven coat and a student on the spectrum weaves for a first time

I have been designing in my mind a kelly green coat i would weave and design and sew for 5 or 6 years. I accomplished it this year!

and here is the weaving …

fabric strips in weft

off the loom  fringes twisted soaked  pressed and laid out to cut my coat

i always make a muslin before i cut into my fabric

after cutting out barely any cloth left for the lapels or pockets !

i pieced the scraps for pockets

the lapels were cut like leaves scraps sewn to no raveling on each one then individually  sewn in place

this coat makes me so happy !
