A peek into a student's 5 day Saori saori weaving intensive at the saorisantacruz studio

 Deb came from out of state for 5 full days of learning how to wind a warp and dress a saori loom, weave and make 2 saori hats, and weave a saori vest too.

Saori Santa Cruz Fiber Arts Studio classes busy January weavers

 Welcome in 2025 with new weavers and returning weavers in January.

meet Emma and Mia  sisters who's parents were Swedish and who's mother wove and they always wanted to  learn to weave . they live in different parts of California but met up to take a class at the studio.

they very much enjoyed it. the Saori ch60 loom with the ability to raise to 4.9 inches fit their over 6' tall needs nicely as well .







their weavings were so so different from each other and fun . Saori if free weaving ,Not your mothers weaving! they embraced it!

Mahika is back to weave a ruana from winding the warp to threading and weaving, then sewing she had a full 2 days!

Desi ( 4yrs old) and his mom Candice came for a mommy and me 2 hour class.
Desi was amazing i showed him how to press treadles down and throw the shuttle on the saori Piccolo loom and then he was self directed after that! i was stunned !
Candice wove a cowl! loved it.
