The latest Saori weaving students at Saori Santa Cruz

Erin  and  Catherine with her daughter are weaving for the first time this past week at the studio...

Erin makes jewelry  and wanted to see what Saori weaving was. She scheduled a TRY IT CLASS

She wove a "fantablous" piece and  wants to come back for  full day of weaving.. she loved and wants to learn how to spin yarns at the studio ...so maybe a  learn to spin class is in her future too.

Catherine and her daughter Layla came for a mother and daughter class .
Layla wanted to leave negative spaces in her weaving, she is very artistic I could  see even at 9 years old! so I showed her how to leave spaces!

 Mom tried it as well.

negative spacing
 Adding fluff.

Mommy and me class  is over and just look at their beautiful  first ever weavings!

There weavings  with the sun streaming through !  almost like stained glass.
For Lyala's birthday there is talk that she wants to schedule and have her freinds come up for a Saori  Santa Cruz weaving Birthday party !

Roberta finished threading her Saori 4 harness and sleyed her reed in NOW in  this class  in her studio i taught her  how to beam on and tie up.

Warp threads are ALL beamed on now ...she can  now start to weave her mobius scarf! very good job roberta!
